Deployable Sanitation UnitThe Deployable Sanitation Unit, or DSU, is a self-contained, environmentally-friendly ablutions unit that is suitable for use by 20 or 40 people per day, depending on the size of the unit and based upon standard use. Built for the field, each unit can easily be moved from one location to the next as needed.

Each DSU combines waterless urinals or urinal troughs, low water flush toilets, handwash facilities and optional showers with all-water tanks, fuel tanks, a power generator and a WC16 incinerator within one complete unit. The layout of each DSU can be modified to create separate areas for male and female users.
 
How the System Works
Featuring a WC16 incinerator, the DSU incinerates all waste to eliminate odours as well as the need for chemicals. Each unit has also been designed to reduce water consumption through the use of low-water flush toilets and waterless urinals. Additionally, each unit re-uses any grey water within the system, which means that no septic tank is required.

The system runs using a diesel-powered generator, however, each DSU has a solar generation option - allowing recoverable energy to power the system.

The DSU is available as a stand-alone mobile unit or within an ISO container.

DSU Mobile Unit
In service with the Spanish Air Force, the DSU Mobile Unit is suitable for military or civilian applications. It contains two low-water flush toilets and three waterless urinals, all within a self-contained unit with plant room. The unit also features an adjustable towing hitch that allows it to be towed by any vehicle and four stablising legs that can be adjusted depending on the surface.

DSU (20) and DSU (10) 
The DSU (20) and DSU (10) are sanitation units within 20ft and 10ft ISO containers respectively. Both ISO containers are available in a variety of configurations with side-, end- or full-combination doors and can be utilized for a wide range of open-plan requirements.

Both the DSU (20) and DSU (10) have a separate plant area that can be accessed from the outside, leaving an interior that can be configured to individual specifications. Both DSUs maintain the full ISO shipping capability of their containers, which feature integrated hook lift systems that are compatible with demountable rack off-loading and the palletized load system (PLS). ISO standard units are available for the pallets and racks of both systems.

  • Eliminates the normal costs and problems caused by the disposal of human waste.
  • Operates with conventional or low water usage toilets that include an integral macerator pump, greatly reducing the need for costly water storage.
  • Capable of incinerating up to 18 litres of waste per hour.
  • Space heating and hot water is obtained via Hydronic 5 with fan matrix and chlorifier/boiler.
  • Meets all required Environmental and Health and Safety regulations (details available on request).
